window.opener doesn't work

I've got an .htm page that submits a form to another .htm page.
Inside that .htm page, when I try to get the parameters passed using,
window.opener.document.forms[0].t1.value,
the Javascript console on Firefox browser keeps saying:
"window.opener has no properties"
It doesn't make sense, I've used this before with no problems.

However, the first .htm page is in a frame inside frameset.htm
So possibly its regarding frameset.htm as its opener.
I tried using window.opener.leftFrame, but still same reply.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

window.opener is only meaningful in windows opened via window.open().
