I am trying to create a .js and cookie enabled browser alert, I intend to display a alert message when a certain browser is being used and not show this message again till the session ends... user will get this message again if he/she logs in again(the old cookie should expire)...

the idea is to allow the users to use there browser if they want to but alert them that the browser being used is not compatible...

any suggestions that help me in this endeavor are greatly appreciated.

My code so far...
Cookie: in html page

Javascript: included in html as well

Issues:
I am not able to make the cookie check though JS and activate the alert. Please help.

Thanks in advance

"kawin kawin",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!

JavaScript Session cookies

That is what you should be looking into.
