Description
The Java Web Application Developer will be responsible for the architecture, and development of technical aspects of web projects. The Developer must be flexible enough to assist in high level architecture/technology specification and requirements gathering as well as implementation level work on diverse projects ranging from simple html and client side scripting to complex business process applications and enterprise level technology solutions. The Developer will be expected to work alone on small projects and work under the direction of the Senior Analyst on larger projects. Ability to troubleshoot is a must.

Duties Include:
oMeeting with clients in conjunction with project managers, analysts and information architects to gain an understanding of the client�s business and needs
oRecommending technological solutions to business problems
oUnderstanding user-workflow and user-experience expectations in regards to functional aspects of project
oDeveloping technical/requirement specifications
oAssisting in the planning and architecture of technology solutions that balance user goals and business goals while fitting within the constraints of time, budget, and technology
oCreating data models, user models, user experience diagrams, application process flow diagrams, user interaction models, and application architecture specifications.
oAssisting the Senior Analyst and Project Manager to determine timelines and budgets for projects.
oBuilding robust and efficient relational databases on diverse platforms.
oCoding web applications, html pages, client side scripting, flash functionality and other project implementation as needed.
Experience/Skill Requirements
o4+ years experience programming
oBasic understanding of networking and comfort with Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
oStrong understanding of web application development principles and best practices
oHighly skilled in Java/JSP (preferably including Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and JSF)
oKnowledge of Java best practices and current frameworks and implementation methodologies.
oProficiency in ASP.NET, C#, PHP, Perl/CGI, ActionScript, Cold Fusion, and/or VB.NET a plus.
oShould be ably to quickly learn any of the above languages as projects dictate
oAbility to create SQL databases, understanding the theory, building, querying, managing, optimization, stored procedures, data transformation, reporting and advanced data modeling
oCreative problem solving skills
oIntegrating API�s, XML feeds, SQL import/exports with Database
oAbility to generate code that can easily be understood, handled and managed by other developers
oNetwork certifications (or equiv. training/experience) preferred but not required
oDHTML/XHTML, XML, CSS and Javascript.
oFamiliar with various code versioning and recovery strategies (preferably subversion)
oAbility to work with interface designers and clients to develop a user level interaction model
oUnderstanding of user-centric application design/architecture skills
oExcellent written, verbal and diagrammatic communication skills.
