Passing Value From Parent to Popup Window by Pressing the Enter Key

I am trying to pass the String that is entered in a parent window input field to a popoup window input field. And the pop up function is invoked by pressing the "Enter" key on the keyboard.

For example, if I enter the letter "m" in the parent window (with form id="vr") input field (with id="subjectCitizenOf") and press the "Enter" key, the letter "m" is supposed to populate the popup window (with form id="countriesList") input filed (with id="filter").

The pop up function that is invoked by pressing the "Enter" key works! But the String in the input field is not passed from the parent window to the popup window.

Please point out what is wrong with my code.

My parent window code:

The id of the field in your code is not "countriesList:filter" unless your server is doing it.

Also here is something I wrote on passing data to the child
