javascript may be blocked in some browsers. Anybody knows an alternative to java script.

JavaScript is all that you really have to work with.

IE has VBScript

You should check with your browser and IT department. If JS is filtered by firewall, probably you can still use flash, or Java applet. A browser can have another extensions recently proposed by Adobe, Google, and Microsoft.

I would suspect that anyone who would bother to disable JavaScript would also disable other active mechanisms.
