Javascript Event Stop

Hi all,
Is there any way to disable all mouse-over events of a web-page through javascript. Say I have a button, as soon as I click it, my pop-up/hover on a link should be disabled.
I guess i will have to write a common-javascript to monitor mouse-events, is there any other better alternative, has anybody tried something similar earlier?

What popups and hover behavior are you talking about? That created by title attributes and CSS?

Yes Bear, say a div with hide on mouse-out and show on mouse-over.

Add a flag on the page that says isDisabled. Set it when you want the stuff not to work.

Go into all your mouseover calls and add if(!isDisabled)foobar();
