Thompson Technologies has an exciting FULL-TIME opportunity for a Senior Java / J2EE Engineer in the Midtown Atlanta area. The candidate who possesses the technical skills and personality will become a part of a stellar development team.

Responsibilities: Develop software solutions using J2EE, Web Services and proprietary technologies. Work closely with technical leaders and project managers to plan and execute successful software implementations. Design software solutions using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Enterprise Architect software. Plan and conduct formal reviews of the design, and source code to ensure overall quality of the solution. Work with client and our testers to test, correct and refine software solution. Work with and mentor client developers in developing applications with our products.
Knowledge and Skills: 5+ years of experience in software design and development. 3+ years of practical Java programming experience. Advanced degree in computer science preferred. Strong knowledge of Java programming, Java Servlets, Web Services, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JDBC, Java Server Pages (JSP), and SOAP. Strong grasp of UML and design patterns. Excellent understanding of Internet web application architectures and internet application design. Ability to make educated, critical judgments in the absence of complete information. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
