I had a problem like this. i put an anchor element in a web page like ADD. when i click on this link, a layer of something should cover this link and some sorrounding area. i came to know that this can be done using javascript and DIV tag. Can anyone help me how this can be done ie any one can send me code of that.
i know that its possible in AJAX also. But i dont want ajax bcz i know nothing about.
please help me.

If you know nothing about Ajax, how do you know what is possible. In fact, your question has nothing at all to do with Ajax.
Also, please use real words when posting to the forums. Abbreviations such as "bcz" in place of "because" only serve to make your posts more difficult to read and less likely to generate useful responses.
