How to make javascript code compatible w/ all browsers

i have a script that makes a div get bigger, then when you click on a link in that div, another pops up, and is supposed to stay open until the MouseOut.

In IE the script works fine, but in firefox and whatever crappy browser mac's use, it doesnt.

If you can help, that would be great.
