How can I make 2 web-apps communicate with each other?
I want to develop a basic prototype with following requirements:
- provide a link in web app1
- On clicking that link, it should open say 'welcome.jsp' from another web-app2.

please provide your suggestions. Thank you!

Place an <a> tag on the page that references the page in the other web app.

If you want it to open in a new window, specify target="_blank" on the tag.

thank you! I didn't know it is this simple.
I have another request: I am able to open the new page in new window but I do not want the navigation bar in there. Is there a way to avoid the navigation bar and have a basic window with just "Minimize", "Maximize" and "Close" buttons?

Thanks!

You would have to use window.open

If you use Javascript to open the new window, you can control these things.
A Google search for "window.open" will lead you to plenty of pages like this one that explain how to do this.

Eric, is correct. Rather than using the target attribute, have the link execute a JavaScript function that calls window.open(). The 3rd parameter to window.open() allows you to customize the window chrome.
