vista+ IE + javascript confirm box

hi
i had a confirm box with multiline text. it is working well and good in XP and in vista the format is messy. i had two line breaks in my text and in vista i see 4 line breaks
here is the confirm box

confirm("This will restore this view's default list of content panes
 as well as their original layout.\\n Any customizations made 
within individual content panes (ex: xx xxxx xxxx)\\n will 
be preserved. Continue?)
