My requirement is :
I need to create a temporary table and insert a record into it before page load.
when the page loads I fetch record from the temp table I created and show the table of records.

I am to use AJAX call for creating and inserting on page load while I display a timer to the user.

I have no idea about what is AJAX and how to use it in JSP.

Please help.

Since Ajax is a client-side mechanism, and by the time a JSP makes it to the browsers, it's just an HTML page, the fact that your page is a JSP is not relevant.

You can start learning about Ajax by reading this article.
