Hi All,
Thanks in advance.
We are planning to create favicon in our website.
I tried " <link rel="icon" type="image/ico" href="favicon.ico"/>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"> "
But it doesnt work in IE till the time we book mark the site.
How come it is possible without book marking.
How can I display for various informations like for Tabs i need like wise.

Please help me.

Thanks & Regards,
Sree

Thats a problem with IE ver < 7 , We need to ctrl + D , to make that fav icon visible, I still don't find the answer , Some people find it as a MS bug ! May be you can try using any other browser and see the results ,If they are showing the same default icon , you may wrong in defining them..

One way to tackle is replace the default 'favicon.ico' , with icon of your choice ! As in tomcat , you can replace there icon with yours !!

In order or favicons to work in older versions of IE, it requires that the domain is bookmarked. There is nothing special about it other than that is how IE works. There is no way to get around it.

No you can not force them. You can prompt up bookmark with page, but that will be real annoying since they will always see it. I am not sure why a favicon matters that much.
