Senior Java / J2EE Engineer

Responsibilities:
Define, design, implement and test software applications using a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to: Java/J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML and scripting languages
Responsible for own schedules and communications of the status of all tasks
Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision
Will assist team members in design discussions and decisions
Will perform code and design reviews with other team members
Interact with QA team to identify defects, reproduce them and document them
Interact with Product team to clarify requirements or suggest changes during the implementation of the enhancements
Interact with the design team to identify, design and implement the user interface portions of the applications
Professionalism, maturity and ability to work through disagreements in a positive manner

Required Technical Skills:
Advanced Java programming, including JSP, Servlet, JDBC and application servers
Stored procedure writing, PL/SQL preferred (if Data-oriented Engineer)
Basic HTML coding
Proficient in JavaScript/Ajax (if UI-oriented Engineer)
Proficient with some scripting languages such as Bourne shell, Perl, PHP, etc.
Basic database design

Desirable Technical Skills:
Struts
Understanding of SMTP, MIME and email technologies (a plus)
Oracle backend experience
JUnit or other testing methodologies
C, C++ or other programming languages
Spring or Hibernate experience.
UML Experience a strong plus
