Hey Frank Zammetti! Thanks for the great offer you made through JavaRanch.com. Welcome the spirit of FREE knowledge.
First of all a few questions!! What is Dojo? I'm not an expert on Java, but i would like to know that. Does it have anything to do with JavaScript, Ajax?
Does your book show any practical applications? Does it have anything to do with database like how to connect to it etc ?
Thanks in advance, DoJo  MAN!!
Thanks and Regards,

Not as far as I know. I don't recall reading where the name came from off the top of my head, but I suspect it came from the idea of a Dojo in martial arts in some way, but I'm not sure.

I would be interested to get your personal feedback on what makes Dojo unique from some of the other javascript toolkit offerings available, such as jquery or scriptaculous. I have tried out scriptaculous and I am impressed with the range and flxibility of it. What makes Dojo special?

i'm new to the forum and this is the first i've heard of dojo. i followed the google link provided & gained valuable information. thanks. i'm at the beginning of learning about these things, ajax etc... this is what wikipedia said about it and i can't wait to use it. "The Dojo Toolkit is a modular open source JavaScript toolkit (or library), designed to ease the rapid development of cross platform, JavaScript/Ajax based applications and web sites. It was started by Alex Russell, Dylan Schiemann, David Schontzler, and others in 2004 and is dual-licensed under the BSD License and the Academic Free License. The Dojo Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to promote the adoption of the toolkit."
