 Positive Energy is a well-funded, rapidly growing startup delivering products designed to make a significant dent in carbon emissions. We're landing major contracts and working hard to expand a communication platform for utilities and state governments designed to target the half of the global warming equation that not enough people are looking at: efficiency and energy demand. Our approach leverages innovative technology, direct marketing and behavioral science expertise, and world-class information and graphic design to change the way millions of people across the country think about and use energy. About the Job: We're looking for a smart and talented web developer, who is looking for early-career experience with a top-notch development team. You will work directly with our small development team, working off a blank slate to create impactful, well-designed web front ends for our applications. The product you build will change the way millions of people across the country think about and use energy. Responsibilities: * Full ownership of the front-end for our energy efficiency reporting engine, including XHTML/CSS development and dynamic elements coded in JavaScript and Flash * Responsible for the growth and evolution of our Ruby on Rails and JavaScript webapp * Work with our Java PDF generation app to implement layouts in XHTML/CSS * Support development of our corporate website About You: * Very strong with XHTML/CSS � able to hand-code semantically rich layouts * Very strong with JavaScript � able to craft professional-quality, maintainable code * Experience with Flash * You have a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field. * Comfortable with both raster and vector graphics * Some Ruby on Rails preferred * You have a strong drive to learn and enjoy challenges * You love to create beautiful and precise layouts [ February 27, 2008: Message edited by: Karen Hodson ]
