Are there any utilities that are written that will convert from say a merge file to XML? We would like to get the benefits of XML to transfer data between applications, but our main application cannot output data in XML format, but can output in comma delimeted format. I realize the tags would not be nested, as merge file headers say nothing of the fact like a <firstName> being nested inside of an <name>, but even if it was <firstName/><lastName/> with no name tag, at least it would be in XML format so that we could parse it. Our deal is that we have multiple companies that all output their data in a different format, so imagine 5 different comma delimeted file. We would like to take that information, put it in a usable format so that it can be parsed and uploaded into a database. Since they all would contain pretty much the same information, just in different orders, and some may have different fields, I was figuring we could somehow convert it to XML and then parse the document looking for the different nodes that we need. Any suggestions? thanks Brian
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
