Hi Nitin,
You can use IE5.x for viewing XML documents. But remember it's not complaint with W3C recommendations.

Regarding IE's compatibility (or incompatibility ) with W3C, there are good and detailed articles:
Browser XML Display Support Chart http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/05/03/browserchart/index.html
XML Web Pages with Internet Explorer 5.x http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/05/03/msie/index.html
W3C Standards Support in IE and the Netscape Gecko Browser Engine (NN) http://home.netscape.com/browsers/future/standards.html?cp=n6i
But in general, both browsers have never been noticed in diligent following W3C specs. Maybe you should use specialized tools instead: parsers and XSLT processors, like Xerces or Saxon. I do not have information about parsers, but among XSLT processors Saxon is considered the most W3C compliant.
If you use IE 5.0, you will probably not meet any Big Incompatibility Problem, but you may have small irritating differences.

The names "karthikeyanb" and "Rajeshv" does not comply with the JavaRanch naming policy. Please spare a moment and re-register with a name that meets the requirements. We will take care of deleting your current login.
Thanks!
