I am generating an HTML file by applying XSLT on XML File.
I want to set caption of a button i.e. its value attribute using
<xsl:value-of select='id' /> from within XSLT file.
Help me out.

I am afraid that U have not an other choice than using *dirty* CDATA instruction
for example in your XSLT program:
<input type=submit name=button1 value="
<xsl:value-of select='idName' />

Or like this:
<input type="submit" name="button1" value="{@idName}"/>
