currently is there any Java API that will validate an XML file against an XML Schema?

Hi,
I think Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB) will be useful. But I am not sure how far it is Schema Validation. Because when you use this, it validates the XML file against the Schema which is a DTD. If the XML doesn't bind to the DTD provided the the Java files are not at all created.
In the later versions of this, other Schema languages are supported.(yet to be released.

We are working on a very large scale program, there is no way we can justify telling client that the heart of the program will be in an early release API that does not support XML Schemas.
I think Xerces 1.42 support XML Schema validation?
