xml, servlet, velocity architecture

Hi XML gurus,
I don't know whether it is possible.
I am writing a xml document which has INPUT html variable names, and variable types , and OUTPUT html variables, types.
I want to write a HTML template page using velocity.
I also want to write a single servlet to construct the dynamic html pages based on the variables contained in XML document, and feed the data to the Velocity template. This servlet also handles "submit" button to save data in the database. All the Http requests/responses are handled by this single servlet.
In this case, I will have xml file, and velocity template for each screen, and ONE single SERVLET for the entire application. Let's say, I have 100 screens/pages to construct.
Is the above architecture possible or not?
Any suggestions....
