Welcome to javaranch
I would like to know what motivated you to write the book ? What are comments on StAX(Streaming ) API which is pull based XML parser. Does your book cover that?
Thanks
Pradeep

The book predates StAX by several months at least. Therefore it does not specifically address it. Some of the general comments about SAX also apply to StAX, especially those concerened with streaming.
The existing StAX parsers are very low quality compared to the existing SAX parsers like Xerces-J. This isn't so much a comment on the API as it is on the relative maturity level of the parsers. SAX parsers have had 5+ years to work the bugs out. The two released StAX parsers I know of are still essentially early access implementations.
I'll be talking more about StAX at Software Development 2004 West next month. Notes from that talk will be on Cafe con Leche soon after.
