Well not exactly. Check out Michael Kay's book about XLST and you will see, that you cold transform plain text to XML as well. It makes eventually sense to write some wrapper around xlst transformation. We usually transform ASCII into a flat XML and into it's target schema after that. XMLSpy or Stylus Studio would be good tools. ;-) stw
