what API to import to use XPATH

Ihave to manipulate and access data in an xml file using XPATH.
Can any body tell me what packages we need to import in our java appilcation to use XPATH and what jars file needs to be set to the classpath environment variable so that the application gets the needed classes.

First choice would be Xalan, check this site, it also have the installation instructions.
