Anybody using XML-pipeline?

I am doing some research for an article on XML "pipeline" processing, especially if it involves tools using this W3C standard. Any success or failure stories out there?
For example, I see that the Oracle XML Developer's Kit 10g includes a pipeline processor - anybody used it?
Thanks, Bill
