AND the latest Java 6 adds support for the StAX - Streaming API for XML. Why are you asking this question here when the JavaDocs that come with the JDK (now called JSE for standard edition) AND the Sun website for the SDK are full of information?

Thank you for reply. I have some xml parsing code which i used Xerces to pars them, can i simply port them to JDK xml parsing? I pars them using DOM.

You will have to do some fiddling with the package names to get parsing working since the Java standard library uses javax. etc package names where Xerces uses org.apache.xerces etc. Code that uses the org.w3c.dom package interfaces should work without change.
