Since the is a process forum, are you talking about Configuration Management. If so from what point of view: programmer, analyst, developer, project lead, project manager, business manager, Quality assurance, quality control, vendor audit?

No No I am not talking about Configuration Management.
Product Management is some thing that, you design your product(for example a software application), rather configure, into small small reusble components. These compoenents may be developed for a particular client now but can be used in some other project for another client.
Here comes the issue, what are the rules governing in defining such components? Like, some combinations of componenets are possible and some are not.
I hope this clarifies.
