Three times I have come across teams using the XP development model (the one that look like distant rolling hills when drawn) only rotated so that the lines go upwards. What gives ?

I have not the slightest what you are talking about. Could you please elaborate?

I wish I'd asked them to elaborate. I thought someone here might have a clue.

I think the reason is to do with scope (extremely broad therefore large teams ) and time (short).

Sorry, my confusion already begins much earlier.

What do you mean by "rotating" the XP "development model"? What "distant rolling hills" and "lines" are you talking about?

Theseare the distant rolling hills. I was applying a bit of artistic license. Sorry!

They are business integration teams.

Oh, ok - notice that that's RUP, not XP...

No I only needed to know what exactly "rotating" means in this context.

Perhaps it would be easier if you gave an example of what they actually *did*, instead of how you'd depict it in a diagram...

The teams are involved in business integration. I guess everyone did their bits , the phases on the model, and turning the model narrowed their perspective of what was going on - found it really worked for them.

This isn't much help. I have to think about it some more.

And you're right. They said they worked to a rotated RUP model.
