Prithiraj - The target readers of the book are anyone who wants to develop a better understanding of their customers. I suspect, given your question, that you and your team qualify.
In terms of helping programmers, I've found that having direct interaction with customers (one of the core principles of Agile methods) really does help programmers in many, many ways. A great for you to include programmers in a game is to ask them to be Observers and/or the "Bad Wedding Photographer".

What is a "Bad Wedding Photographer"? Sounds interesting...
The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny - it is the light that guides your way. - Heraclitus
The "Bad Wedding Photographer" is the individual that takes pictures of the games event. Using that title helps the person to not be overly concerned about taking only perfect pictures with people posing. The photographer should take a plethora of photos and they should be candid. The camera's flash should go off so often that the players stop worrying about smiling for it and just continue playing.
