I am a SW Developer and have some project management experience, would like to improve my project management skill and become a PMP.

Does this book provide case study, which can be apply to real job easily?

Does it provide practice exam questions which can simulate the full PMP exam?

This is a great book for PMP Prep. Go to www.pmi.org for sample exam test questions.

Yes. Every process, tool and technique is presented in the context of a scenario that shows how it would be used on a real project. The projects are not all software projects, since the PMP exam is also taken by people from other industries. But one of our goals for the book was to make the material as practical and job-applicable as possible, because that's the easiest way to understand and remember it.

(Just to be clear, I personally believe that it's very difficult to manage a software project if you don't understand how software works and is built.)

Yes, we put together a free practice exam based on the official PMP exam specification. We've had many people tell us that it's very similar to the real thing. You can download it here:

Hi Cai, If you're interested in PMP practice exams, you might want to try whizlabs, they have simulators for almost every major/popular exam. But be sure to research on user feedback (for particular simulators) from fellow ranchers first.

SCJP 1.2 (89%), SCWCD 1.3 (94%), IBM 486 (90%), SCJA Beta (96%), SCEA (91% / 77%), SCEA 5 P1 (77%), SCBCD 5 (85%)
