My PC is showing the error that the hardware for SoundCard is not available. Hence I've installed drivers etc and tried to connect it with my soundcard but it doesn't help. Could anybody understand the problem and revert back to a solution for me please. Thanks in advance. Rashid Ali

Yea Actually, I have Win98 with Sound Card installed in it. Priorly it was being running for more than a year, but the last week it encountered a problem and started off to send me its nice quality sounds from CD's etc. It also show me an error that DDraw.dll file is missing. Even after i reinstalled my driver, it's showing me this error. I think that my sound card driver is not performing its job properly. And i will have to buy another one and try it back. What do you say? Rashid Ali [ February 13, 2002: Message edited by: Rashid Ali ]

Did you install any other program or hardware close to the time you started having the problem. Sometimes other programs/hardware installations can interfere with things.

Nope, but a badly scratched CD was tried to run through my CDROM by my younger brother since then it's creating the problem Will try to deleted all the sound card drivers and then re-install it again through CD. May be in that way it could run. Rashid Ali
Have you opened the case, removed the sound card, cleaned the leads, blowed dust from the slot, re-installed and re-booted?
If it says the hardware is not there, then re-installing the drivers will do nothing.
And what does DirectDraw (DDraw.dll) have to do with a sound card?

Rashid. I'd like to and one more step in Mike's suggestion. 1st reboot the PC without the card. Shut the computer down. Put the card back and re-boot. Good luck
