Aaargh!
The hard drive in my main workstation has just decided to stop bothering to move its head, and there's a fair amount of un-backed-up data on there.
Anyone got any suggestions, other than "cry"?

I've heard of disk data recovery services and tools. You might do a google search for "disk data recovery".

Frank,
My hard drive crashed a few days ago and I was in the same state Desktop support suggested that they can send the hard drive to a company that does recovery and they would charge 2 grand! Then they attempted something that worked out cheaper. They managed to bring up the hard drive as another hard drives "slave" on a Win 2K box.
Hope this helps.
