Does anyone have anything positive or negative to say about Compaq laptops? How about Dell? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Getting a bit long in the tooth now, but I've been using a Compaq Armada E500 for the last 2-3 years and have been very happy. Compared to other laptops I've used, the screen is darker and the up-down buttons for volume are annoying, but other than that it's been fantastic.

I have only positive things to say about Dell Inspiron 8200. I wouldn't be able to compare it with other notebooks, as I haven't used many others. But from my limited exposure, Compaq notebooks are defenitly better looking than Dell, yet, lately with Widescreen, superb display, and good performance and value for money, Dell would be my choice of a laptop, if I decide to buy another one.
