Just an FIY I recently discovered that I can use my old extra video card along with newer card (of a different chip set) on Windows XP and the two monitors thingy works well. It doesn't duplicate your desktop, it expands it across the two monitors. It's very nice. Can Linux do that?
We have our mech. engineers using dual Samsung 240T's on single NVidia Quadro cards. We've got a few demo machines with four of these enormous flat screen monitors (all tiled into one big desktop.) These are Linux workstations. It R0x0rs, all right. [ September 14, 2003: Message edited by: Ernest Friedman-Hill ]
The first time I saw this mentioned as part of core X-Free within Linux was about 6 years ago. No doubt it was around for a long time before that. Nice to see Microsoft catching up to Macs and Linux. I agree - it is really nice.
