Problem with my PC

Hey folks.
I have this problem.
I have downloaded a fresh copy of WinXP.
now, when trying to shutdown the system (using start, turn off computer, shutdon)
the system is restarts !!
I know 2 friends (one is MCSE and the other is MCSA), they checked curuits in the mother boared and there is nothing wrong.
and the configurations informations at Power options are right.
and my copy of winxp is excellent and has nothing wrong.
my friends toled me that there is something wrong in the power supply.
what do you think ranchers ?
any help is really appreciated.

excellent. That's the punishment for using pirated software, hope you don't get it back up.

XP rebooting while attempting to restart is not a rare issue. Its normally to do with incompatible (read old) hardware but not limited to that.

A quick google search came up with this: Windows XP Shutdown Troubleshooter (Link to Google Cache)

and how told you that my verion of XP is pirated ?

I think that comment is what Jeroen was referring to. I would have probably made the same assumption myself. Although I often here people use the words download and install interchangably. Jeroen probably should have just not said anything. Right Jeroen? Remember to Be Nice.
