I have a subscribtion at java's site (newsletters), so I think yahoo will try to send this reponse to java's site and maybe sun will try to resend it again to me and lablabla ....

I don't know how this works exactly, but the protocoll(s) for emails already contain provisions to handle such situations smoothly. In short, if everything is setup correctly, the email servers should notice this special case and you shouldn't experience any problems, as far as I know. (At least I never encountered any problems with automatic vacation responses, though I am subscribed to a whole bunch of newsletters and mailinglists.)

So, just setup the vacation response and enjoy your vacation with a clear conscience...

If you ever subscribed to any of the Sun mailing lists you'll have discovered that it's impossible to post to them without getting a hundred out-of-the-office responses.

It's extremely annoying and cause for regular calls on the list for people to turn the darn things off (many seem to set them every night when they go home and over the weekends as well).

Then I guess the solution is to have two email accounts: One for lists and one for regular mailing. You'd activate the vacation response only on the latter, of course...
