Hi,

Does anyone know of a programming language and database that works on "ranges" of data ? I want to be able to define sets of data like this:

Corpus of data (1..1000, 5000..9999)

Next:
  • I want to be able to query to find out if a number is within the range.
  • I want to be able to remove a number from the range.
  • The modifications to the range(s) should be transactional
  • The database should be in-memory

  • Regards,

    Pho

    I just saw this post.

My gut reaction is that you should take a look at:

    Ruby

    It's an OO scripting language.

Ranges are supported out of the box.

In memory data bases are supported out of the box.

Not sure exactly how you would marry those .......
