Does anyone know of a programming language and database that works on "ranges" of data ? I want to be able to define sets of data like this:
Corpus of data (1..1000, 5000..9999)
I want to be able to query to find out if a number is within the range.
I want to be able to remove a number from the range.
The modifications to the range(s) should be transactional
The database should be in-memory

I just saw this post.
My gut reaction is that you should take a look at:
It's an OO scripting language.
Ranges are supported out of the box.
In memory data bases are supported out of the box.
Not sure exactly how you would marry those .......
