Hi all.
I have a question about email systems.
When you login to your email account and navigate to your inbox, you will find your emails messages.
How does the email system save emails ?
database ? flat-files ? binary files ?
thanks.

different systems do it different ways, it will depend on how your server is set up. all three of the methods you mentioned (and one or two more) have been used by different systems, at different times.

Of course the messages you see in your inbox (unless using webmail or directly using a serverconsole) aren't residing on the server at all but have already been retrieved from it (and usually deleted) using a protocol like POP3.
The client then stores them in some way, which can indeed be textfiles, binary files, or some kind of database.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
