Hi all,

I am a bit confused about the term production when used as production machine, production server And what is the opposite of production machine or production server.

In a service environment, the production machine is the one you run your service on -- i.e., the corporate application server. The opposite of a production server -- which has to run all the time -- is a development or test machine, which you can tear apart and break as needed.
