reg java based API Programming

hi all,

we need to develop API for our client. API should pass the parameters as a well formed XML and its response also should be in the for of XML. They have given schema (xsd file) also. I dont know where to start and what to do to develop an API... inputs needed from ranchers... I am not sure whether this is right forum to ask this question, so i request moderator to move it to appropriate forum (if this is not right forum).

I'm not sure where it belongs either, since it's not a particularly Java-ish question, even if that's the programming language of choice here. Let's move this to General Computing and see what happens.
