Hi,
My Sony VAIO laptop stopped working since last week. The moment I press main switch button, hard disc light turns green only for a fraction of a second.I tried with battery and current both but nothing works.
Any idea?

Sounds like you have a bad Motherboard and / or CPU. I had the same problem, but with a PC. After pressing the power button, the fans would spin for a split second. The lights would also turn on for a split second.

A cheap fix, is replacing your CPU Fan. Intel CPUs have a defense mechanism that will prevent itself from starting if the CPU fan isnt working. If this doesnt solve the problem, then examine your Motherboard and CPU for burned residue. If you discover any burned residue, then chances are that you might have to replace your CPU and / or Motherboard.

Good Luck!

I believe motherboard/CPU of laptop is very expensive. Its better to purchase new PC than repairing this one I think. My laptop is 4.5 years old.
