My daughter's crusty old laptop is once again infested with crap. I ran an old copy of ad-aware and it cleaned out a bunch of spybots. She says she uses only firefox, but .... well .... maybe she doesn't all the time. I ran AVG (sp?) and it didn't find any viruses. Spybot-search-and-destroy got stuck and the most recent version wouldn't install.
My son's computer (one of my castoffs from long ago) ran SBSD okay. But I couldn't get anything else going.
I tried to download AVG, but it appears to be not free anymore.
What's the stuff to use these days? I don't mind paying $5 or $10 for something pretty good.
