Some Problem with JDK1.6

I have uninstalled j2sdk 1.4.2_10 and installed JDK1.6. The problems I am facing are:

1) If I type java or javaw at command prompt, I get message that MSVCR71.dll not found. I solved this by copying the file from java_home to c:\windows.

2) I get Error message when I close IE running an Applet. The OS is win98 while IE is ver 6.

3) I get strange boxes in advance to name, address in the JTable which show results from database. I am updating its model each time. This is not so when I use jdk.13 or 1.4.

Thanx in advance,

Maki Jav

You uninstalled JDK 1.3 and installed Mustang (JDK 1.6) which isn't even in beta yet? Mustang is at a stage for playing and testing, not for actually using. There are many, many acknowledged bugs, and countless more that haven't even been reported yet, let along fixed. It's still in very active development!

Here: go to, report your bugs, and maybe you can win an Ultra 20 workstation!
