Welcome to JavaRanch!

In an effort to help you get the most from our forums, we've compiled a
list of tips for asking questions here. You can find the list in our
FAQ section here. In particular, please see UseRealWords and
especially see EaseUp.

There are many different types of search engines and they can be implemented in a lot of different ways.

A forum is a good place to go if you're stuck on a particular problem or concept but questions such as "How can I implement a search engine?" are a bit beyond the scope of this venue.

The kind of help someone could give you here depends largely on your prior experience as well.

I would start with a Google search to see if there are any 3rd party libraries available to use as a starting point.

Anyway, this is not really a Tomcat specific question.
I'm going to move this thread to "General Computing".

"udhaya kp",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!

You should check Lucene ( http://lucene.apache.org/ )

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Is this a tiny ad?
