I gotta do something about all the spam I'm getting.
I have filters, but important stuff sometimes ends up getting labeled as spam. And I still get 50 or more spams a day ending up in my inbox.
I would like to forward spam to some place where they will beat up on the spammers. And I would like to put honeypots on JavaRanch that the spammers will get through spidering and then get in trouble.
Something just needs to be done.

there was one by a company called Blue Security. they'd send something like 10 emails back for every spam you received, effectivly swamping the spammer's server.
however, some spammers hacked their DB, and used the list to find legitimate email addresses, and then spammed THOSE accounts...
the last press release i saw said that Blue Security was shuttering the product.
There are only two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors
I agree. Here's the link:
subject: war on spam
Image based spam.
Why would someone do this?
reducing spam (not just filtering it)
