auto run some task/program when receive an email with specific format

Hi all,

I'm sorry, I don't know where to put this kind of post.

I need to configure an mail server and write a program so that when the mail server receives an email with a specific format, some code(program) will run to do something like: getting sender's email, updating database, sending mail.....

I really don't know where to begin
