Flex2-Servlets and Session Management

I'm not sure which forum to post this in, but I'm starting a project and we're going to be using Flex2 for the UI and JEE (Servlets/JSP) for the server side stuff. I'm just wondering if anyone in here knows if Flex2 can deal with Session Management that Servlets use (ie url rewriting and/or cookies). Thanks ranchers!

The Flex application will maintain cookie-based sessions with the server.
