Don't know whether this falls under Security.I have Windows 2000 professional .All services including SMTP are there.I want to test whether messaging application can send the messages to recipients.messaging Application runs on same machine.and will run the process to connect to SMTP server which in turn should contact recipient's Email Server. Is this possible or do I need full Exchange Server etc to carry out this? Can I use some SMTP servers etc?
