hi all,
there are some questions about the project jGuard(http://sourceforge.net/projects/jguard/) , which enable the JAAS integration in a j2ee environment.
one of them, is how "jGuard can handle different authorization and authentication schemes for each webapp":
in fact, jGuard relies on the j2ee classloader delegation mechanism (which differs from the j2se mechanism), which permits to distinguish each webapp with his classloader (each webapp has got his own classloader).

all details of this jGuard feature are available on the jGuard web site:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1035018&group_id=107276&atid=647954

if you have any questions, feedback, or comments about jGuard,
don't hesitate to post them on the jGuard Forums:
jGuard Help / Support
jGuard Open Discussion

or on one of the jGuard mailing-lists:

jguard-announce@lists.sourceforge.net : for announcements of releases, and others importants about jGuard:
jguard-users@lists.sourceforge.net : for any others problems or questions about how to use jGuard in your project

hope it clarifies some jGuard architectural details,

sincerly yours,
charles(diabolo512).

Does this work with WebSphere (5.1) form based authentication (or does it replace it?)

yes,
the goal of jGuard is to fit with all the j2ee 1.3 (or higher) application server, and to replace their vendor-specific configuration.

=>jGuard handle application servers like any java standalone application.

note that i haven't tested yet jGuard with websphere.
but i can help you to integrate jGuard under your application with websphere.

charles.
