Hi
Thank you for reading my post
Can some one please explain what is relation of Kerberos and LDAP?

does kerberos provides some directory like structure (LDAP) which we can use to store heirarchical information (and also userid, password) to authenticate users?

Thanks

Kerberos only performs authentication; it is not a directory service. So it may work in conjunction with LDAP, which would supply information about the available users.

Both are standards based, some of the implementations have integrated both together to take advantage of LDAP replication and configuration and data key store. This give the advantage of storing the data LDAP rather than on a file system and also have the credentials more distributed.

This depends on the implementation:
MS ADS / W2K{3} - has beautifully integrated LDAP and Krb5 and also added thr propritary extensions like PAC .... etc
